York Region’s Sexual Health Clinics provide the following services at no cost, in a non-judgmental and inclusive environment. A health card is not required.

Services Offered:

  • Free condoms
  • Pregnancy tests, counselling and referral
  • Sexual health examinations
  • Sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment
  • HIV testing (including anonymous HIV testing and Rapid HIV testing)
  • HIV Pre-exposure prophylaxis (HIV PrEP) prescriptions
  • Hepatitis A and B vaccination
  • Gardasil 9 vaccination
  • M-pox vaccination
  • Harm reduction services (needle exchange, safer smoking supplies and Naloxone)
  • Low-cost contraception
  • Emergency contraception
  • IUD insertions (clients 30 years of age and under or without OHIP)
  • Pap testing (clients 30 years of age and under or without OHIP)

Also offers: Facilitate sexual health education and promotion:

  • Workshops
  • Displays
  • Printed resources
  • Clinic tours are available for select groups

York Region offers sexual health services to help schools educate their students:

  • Consultation and curriculum supports to promote sexual health education in schools
  • Consultations with public health nurses on issues relating to promoting sexual health in schools

York Region’s sexual and blood borne infection (SBBI) program includes:

  • Counselling to clients who have a sexually transmitted infection (STI) and/or blood borne infection (BBI) to ensure treatment, follow-up and referral
  • STI medications at no cost to clients and health care providers to treat clients who have tested positive for a reportable STI or are a contact of someone who has tested positive for an STI
  • Partner notification and counselling for people who may have been exposed to a STI or BBI
  • Distribution of information resources
  • Education and support to health care providers about STIs and BBIs
  • Working in partnership with other groups to support the awareness, treatment, prevention of STIs and BBIs
  • Monitoring of STIs and BBIS
  • Facilitating the Mandatory Blood Testing Act (MBTA)
  • Outreach to shelters and community partners
