The immunodeficiency clinic is an outpatient clinic that has a multidisciplinary team to provide specialized care to persons with HIV/AIDS. The clinic is a regional centre specializing in care and research on HIV infection. It is also a distribution point for antiretroviral medication.

Patients can participate in clinical trials. The multidisciplinary team consists of physicians specializing in infectious diseases, nurses, social workers, a psychologist, a dietician, a pharmacist and a research team.

The clinic offers care on an outpatient basis. It provides Pentamidine inhalation treatments and has a satellite pharmacy to distribute certain medication. Patients are followed in cooperation with their family doctors.

The clinic organizes educational activities for patients and support groups, and has a liaison committee to improve communication with the clients and the community.

The clinic does not do any HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) screening. For general questions on HIV or AIDS, please call the bilingual AIDS Information Hotline of the Ontario Ministry of Health at 1-800-267-7432.
