Pap Clinic A Pap smear is used to screen for cervical cancer in patients from the ages of 21-74 years of age. In conjunction with a pelvic exam, a pap test can detect cells in their precancerous stage, which can allow the implementation of preventative treatment. In addition to detecting precancerous lesions, the test can also help in spotting any other issues that may appear in the cervical or vaginal area, such as infections.
